· U.S. Customs and Border Protection — official ESTA site
The official ESTA fee is $40.27, paid on esta.cbp.dhs.gov. Sites that charge $80 to $100 for the same form are intermediaries.
Apply at least 72 hours before you fly. The authorisation is valid for two years, or until your passport expires, for stays of up to 90 days.
Our ESTA guide walks through the form, the questions that trip people up and what to do if it is refused.
