Hotels in Sedona: your questions

Where should I stay in Sedona for a first visit?

Uptown Sedona puts shops, restaurants and the entrance to Oak Creek Canyon within walking distance; L'Auberge de Sedona sits on Oak Creek close by. West Sedona and Airport Mesa are better value and close to the Dry Creek and Boynton Canyon trails; Sky Ranch Lodge sits on top of Airport Mesa. Read our Sedona travel guide

How far ahead should I book a hotel in Sedona?

Book as soon as your dates are fixed for spring and fall, the busiest seasons, and for weekends: creekside cottages and rooms with red rock views go first. Winter and midweek dates are easier.

When is the best time to visit Sedona?

March to May and September to November, when days are mild enough for hiking. Summer is hot, so hike early, and winter is cool and quieter. When to visit Sedona

How do I get to Sedona from the airport?

Phoenix Sky Harbor is about two hours (115 miles) away by car; Flagstaff Airport, with fewer flights, is under an hour away. L'Auberge de Sedona does not run an airport shuttle but its concierge can arrange transportation.

Which of the two hotels suits families?

Sky Ranch Lodge welcomes families of all ages, with a seasonal pool, paved grounds and a kids’ scavenger hunt in the gardens. At L'Auberge de Sedona, the Two-Bedroom Garden Cottage sleeps six and is presented as ideal for families.

Do I need a Red Rock Pass, and how does parking work?

Most trailheads require a Red Rock Pass (an America the Beautiful pass works too), and the free Sedona Shuttle serves the busiest ones. L'Auberge de Sedona includes Red Rock trailhead passes in its resort fee and charges $35 a night for valet parking; Sky Ranch Lodge runs a free shuttle within five miles from 2 to 10 pm.

Can I book these hotels directly?

Yes. The See prices button under L'Auberge de Sedona opens the hotel’s official website. For Sky Ranch Lodge it opens Trip.com, one of our booking partners. Both open in a new tab.
