Hotels in Niagara: your questions

Should I stay on the US or the Canadian side of Niagara Falls?

The Canadian side has the panoramic view; the US side is calmer and gets you closest to the water. Both our picks are on the US side, a walk from Niagara Falls State Park, and the Rainbow Bridge to Canada is close by if you have a passport. Read our Niagara Falls travel guide

How far ahead should I book a hotel at Niagara Falls?

Book early for June to September, the busiest months, especially for a rapids-view room or a suite at the Red Coach Inn, which has only 37 rooms and suites. Note its 7-day cancellation policy.

When is the best time to visit Niagara Falls?

June to September. The Maid of the Mist usually sails from April to early November, depending on the ice. When to visit Niagara Falls

How do I get from the airport to my hotel?

Fly into Buffalo Niagara International Airport, about 30 miles away. The Giacomo estimates a taxi at about $70 one way and has no airport shuttle; Uber and Lyft operate. Both hotels have free parking if you rent a car.

Which hotel suits families?

At The Giacomo, children stay free and kids 5 and under eat breakfast free; roll-away beds cost $10 a night. The Red Coach Inn's two-bedroom suites have a full kitchen and a fireplace, though the historic building has no elevators.

Is parking free?

Yes at both. The Red Coach Inn offers free parking and Tesla charging to guests; The Giacomo has free but limited self-parking in a gated lot, assigned at check-in.

Can I book these hotels directly?

Yes. The See prices button under the Red Coach Inn opens the inn's official website. For The Giacomo it opens Trip.com, one of our booking partners.
